Essar Capital is an investment advisor to Essar Global Fund (EGFL). EGFL has invested in various companies across Metal and Mining, Energy, Infrastructure and Technology/Services verticals. My current role is strategic in nature whereby I advise group companies domestically and overseas across these verticals on effective capital structure, fundraising (Debt/Equity), performance improvement, resolution and growth strategies, and value creation. Role involves managing and leveraging the relations with Banks, financial institutions, Government. Further, ability to maintain healthy and positive relationships with institutional investors, investment banks, equity analysts and also investor relationship management. Effective internal stake holder managements including working closely with Board/CEOs/CFOs/and other managers of the group companies.

RFL is NBFC focused on SME/MSME retail lending with asset book of Rs. 80.0 Bn. I spearheaded the turnaround of distress business along with new private equity investors who took control of the Religare Group. Restore confidence in stakeholders viz; management, Board, Regulator & Lenders to support turnaround effort Operating and financial performance improvement;- Achieved reduction of 35-40% in overall operating cost without affecting efficiency and performance, Institutionalized new Credit, Finance, IT and HR policies Capital raising - Actively engaging with investors and lenders for raising equity and debt capital respectively- Consummated deal to sell 100% of RFL/RDHCL from Religare Group to strategic investor and completed Debt Restructuring with consortium of 22 banks which is first of its kind in India under new RBI guidelines

I joined the bank at its inception in 2004 and progressed to head wholesale banking. I established the bank’s brand equity in Wholesale Banking Business in the initial years by effectively conceptualizing and implementing business strategies. It was a unique experience, which allowed me to develop leadership skills at a young age and to understand the nuisances of building greenfield private bank in India. As wholesale banking head I led large businesses which accounted for more than 50% of bank’s asset book viz; - Corporate Banking (Large clients - turnover above Rs. 15.0 BN and all large business conglomerates), Infrastructure Banking (clients across power, telecom, transportation, EPC and core sectors) and Multinational Corporate Banking (MNC clients across all sectors) besides product groups such as FRU, Structured finance and Debt Syndication.

Received the best trainee award for the year 1994 at BPCL.
