I headed the Enterprise Data Organization and led the Enterprise Cloud Architecture Team for driving the Cloud (Azure) First Strategic Digital Transformation Initiative at NantHealth. My team was comprised of a total of12 members ranging from Senior Managers to Senior Data Engineers and Architects.I was responsible for Architecting and Building out the Enterprise Data Lake for our Data Assets in Azure using state of the art Azure technologies and services like Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks (with PySpark and Spark SQL), Azure Synapse, Azure Event Hubs, and Azure Logic Apps. I used the Medallion Architecture and Delta Lake for Data Persistence in our EDL.I was responsible for modernization and migration of our Applications viz., Eviti and NaviNet to the Azure Cloud, and Architecting our new Azure native ML/AI powered Advanced Analytics Product called Quadris.In addition to the above, I also led the implementation of our DevSecOps platform to a Microsoft CAF based Terraform framework powered by CI/CD using GitHub and Azure DevOps.My responsibilities included but were not limited to budgeting, hiring and team building through mentoring, coaching and technical knowledge dissemination.I drove the Enterprise Data Governance and the Technical Delivery Program & Roadmap for our Azure initiatives.In doing all of the above, I needed to collaborate on a regular basis with our key Vendor partners like Microsoft and Databricks.Some of the "hands on" part of my work involved building working PoCs using Architecture as Code viz., DevSecOps with CI/CD, Network Integration of Azure Services with On Premises, working Prototypes for Streaming & Batch Data Ingestion and Consumption for Upstream Applications using ML/AI on Azure Databricks and Data Visualization with Power BI, Self-Serve BI with Dremio, etc.

I was responsible for providing Architecture, Design, Technical thought Leadership and Direction at the Program Level for a 55+ Million USD, Multi-year, Cloud First Data & AI Transformation Program at a Client in the East Coast (the largest Credit Union in the World).This Digital Transformation Program was / is being implemented entirely on the Microsoft Azure Cloud for the Enterprise Data Lake build out, which I led as the Platform Architect and the other aspect of the program which had started in 2021 that deals with the Operational side, were being handled by a separate team, essentially now consuming what my team built in 2020.I led a team of 25 Senior / Mid-Level Managers and Engineers comprising of 3 Senior Managers directly reporting to me, while the rest of the team reported into them.My team was comprised of experts from Microsoft Consulting Services, Avanade, Accenture, and the Client.The key areas that I focused on from the technical delivery aspects were primarily, (1) immutable IaC with mostly PaaS being the primary Azure Service category used viz., ADLS Gen2, ADF (V2), Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Event Grid and Azure Event Hubs, Azure Functions and Azure Logic Apps, to name the most prominent ones in play, (2) Client InfoSec and Industry / Regulatory Bodies’ Mandated Data Security Compliance, using Microsoft Defense in Depth (DiD) Security Best Practices in my Architecture & Design all thru, (3) 100% Azure DevOps driven Agile Delivery with TDD, Automated QA and CI/CD based RE, using Industry Standard Tools & allied Technologies like Git, JFrog XRay & Artifactory, Precisely (Syncsort) etc. integrated into the automated delivery / releases, and (4) Building a 100% Automated Code Driven Testing CoE and QA Factory.I was awarded a special Certificate of Acknowledgement of my contributions by the Client Executive Leadership (please review my LinkedIn profile for a view of a copy of the same).

I was responsible for managing overall delivery at multiple accounts in the Northeast region, a few key ones amongst them being a Big Oil Corporation in PA and a Big Medical Liability Insurance Corporation in MA, where Avanade was engaged to deliver end to end EDW & BI / AI solutions, in association with their parent entities viz., Accenture & Microsoft.I was also involved in leading technical solutioning and deal shaping for multiple prospects in the region. I had a total of 5 direct reports from Avanade, besides the above account delivery teams from Accenture reporting to me, both Onshore as well as Offshore. I architected and developed a POC on ingesting Sensor data from Commercial Air Conditioners thru Azure Event Hubs into Azure BLOB Storage to be consumed into Azure Databricks and analyzed in the real time using Azure Databricks Notebook with Spark SQL Streaming, for overheating units triggering pro-active maintenance scheduling, for a large and reputed global Air Conditioner & Elevator Manufacturer. This POC helped us secure a half million dollar Data Science Lab Setup engagement with the same Client. Two of my biggest achievements were renewing an existing Client engagement for USD ~1.13 Million just before I left Avanade, and mentoring /developing 3 of my junior advisees as capable ML developer resources. I architected a POC for building out an Enterprise Data Lake on Azure Data Lake Storage, with Azure Data Lake Analytics (using U-SQL) for Data Discovery / Science Lab, for a very large Health Insurance Consortium, using their on premise data on Netezza and other disparate data sources, which landed us a huge multi-year staff augmentation engagement with them. The above initiative was to help the VP of Analytics and his team of Actuaries, have secure and 'need' basis access to the enterprise as well as public domain data, for performing Data Science R&D.

I was responsible for driving the Data Persistence / Data Access Layer Architecture for the Pega Platform 7 Core Engine, which essentially means that I had to provide hands-on Technical Architecture Guidance on the RDBMS and NoSQL platforms that are currently supported by the Pega Platform 7 Persistence & DAL Layers viz., PostgreSQL, Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2 UDB on LUW& z/OS, Couchbase and Cassandra.My work here involved frequent interactions with different scrum teams and leadership across the organization as well as partner vendors, on matters pertaining to both technical and strategic vision for the Pega Platform 7 Data Persistence & DAL architecture in its current state, as well as the forward thinking aspects of the same, including the Cloud, where Pega currently supported AWS and Azure only.My work was hands-on, and I was often required to code prototypes and demos of architectural concepts which I proposed / intended to incorporate into the Pega Platform 7.Additionally, I owned all Database Schema Maintenance aspects of the Pega Platform 7 Data Persistence & DAL Layers.A few of my key achievements were (1) my initiative to incorporate full support for NoSQL data stores into the Pega Platform 7 as part of my forward thinking vision for the Data Persistence & DAL Layers Architecture, (2) my drive towards pushing Pega to seriously consider distributed i.e., "scale out" paradigm based re-design of the Platform 7 Data Persistence & DAL Layers, and (3) develop process automation with regards to how they handled Database Schema Maintenance so they might integrate the same with their CI/CD based Release Engineering efforts seamlessly. To this end, I developed and deployed an Application using the Pega Platform 7 Workflows for our internal Core Engine teams to use for managing Database Schema Changes from their IDE, which was priorly being done entirely manually.

My latest role here was to Design and Model the next generation of the Eze IMS (Investment Management System) SaaS product line DAL (Data Access Layer), comprising of the OLTP Eze OMS (Order Management System) Suite of Products, the DW / OLAP Eze DMS (Data Management System) Suite of Products, and the Eze IMS (Investment Management System) SaaS on Private Cloud offered by our Channel Partners like BlackRock, UBS, etc.In the process of doing the above, I Designed, Prototyped and Developed DAL Frameworks such as Exception & Error Management Framework, Entity Extensibility Framework, Data Storage & Retrieval Engine, Financial Calculator Engine Data Model, Securities Master Data Model and Customizable UI Data Model, to name a few.All of the above required me to use UML, write a lot of complex T-SQL Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers and make use of some .Net C# Scripting as needed. The tools I used most in the above processes were Visio, Visual Paradigm, ERwin, Visual Studio, Red Gate and TFS. Even though I did not write a lot of C# / Java or any other similar low level programming language based code, I did learn and use relevant .Net based Design Patterns / Frameworks (like WPF MVC/MVVM, WCF, CEP, etc.) in some of the DAL Metadata Models that I designed for some of the Key Product Components & Frameworks.One of my biggest Architectural contributions here was the DBA Support Scalability Solution called the EzeDBA Performance Pack, which I had Designed and Developed for the Database and Server Administration Team under the Global Technology Services Group, for Automating their DBA Support Function at Economy of Scale.I started here as a Lead DBA in 2008. I was promoted as Architect in 2010, and I was promoted as Associate Director Architect in 2012.
