Sanjeev Bothra is a practising designer, design educator and researcher with experience spanning more than 25 years. He is a NID alumnus and holds a PhD in design education. He has been associated with several design schools and universities in India, New Zealand, Switzerland and the USA in various capacities. He has taught a variety of courses and mentored student projects at undergraduate (UG) and post-graduate (PG) levels. Sanjeev delivers these courses in a combination of theoretical and hands-on practical experiential formats in the studio as well as out in the field. In addition to teaching and mentoring, Sanjeev has been involved with educational institutions in • advisory committees • curriculum review committees • board of studies • portfolio review and interview of students for admission selection processes • academic juries and thesis examinations • selection process for faculty recruitment • mentoring of mentors.Sanjeev's research interest lies in design education intersecting with socially responsive professional practice. Sanjeev is the Founder and Principal Designer at Appropriate Design, a design studio engaged with designing for socially and environmentally relevant projects. He is also a Designated Partner and Creative Director at OpenSapce Books LLP, India, a vanity publisher specializing in production of exquisite art publications.
