Sanjeev Singh is one of India’s digital broadcast leaders with over 20 years as a journalist and content producer in senior positions in Digital, TV, and Print before moving to academia. He has worked with UPES Dehradun where he was instrumental in setting up the media school in his capacity as Associate Dean and Professor. He was previously Editor, Digital Broadcasting, Times Internet, where his primary work included creating digital video and audio content on The Times of India and nine other online platforms of the Times Group. As the head of the centralised digital multimedia broadcasting content engine for the Times Group – he led a team of multimedia professionals across several cities and working closely with Times journalists in 55 print editions around the country and overseas. He also managed the production of new audio podcast programming initiatives in partnership with global universities like Harvard India Centre, Columbia University and other content partners. Singh has previously been a consultant at ndtv.com, where his work focused on website updation, digital coverage of breaking news, analysis and mapping competition. He has been part of founding launch teams of several TV news stations like Star News (as Bureau Head in Lucknow), Times Now (as Special Correspondent) and News Nation (as National Bureau Chief). He also worked with News X (as Associate Editor), NDTV (as Correspondent, Ahmedabad Bureau Head and Sports Anchor). He has reported on news and current affairs for over two decades and has been a columnist for India’s leading newspaper, The Times of India, and popular news website, FirstPost. An alumnus of The Doon School, Dehradun, Singh has a Ph.D in Communications from GD Goenka University, a PG Diploma in Radio and TV Journalism from Indian Institute of Mass Communications and BA (Honours) English from Hindu College, University of Delhi.
