For example, in my current role, we were challenged to resolve a cumbersome four-week process to complete application testing. The roadblock involved too many legacy software systems to detect fraud - tightly coupled so that it was taking too much time to make system changes.Partnering with quality architects, we modernized pieces of the legacy system by creating small microservices using technologies like Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, Jenkins, Gradle, and PCF. I designed automated component level test cases using Cucumber and Wire Mock.The result?We reduced testing time 75% — from 4 weeks to 1 week.► PROCESS IMPROVEMENT ADVOCATEI am in my element when I can contribute to improving Agile process efficiencies. Our department was struggling with a long cycle time to release a new feature. To meet the needs of the business, we were challenged to reduce release time significantly.The problem was focused on too much rework downstream, with a need to fix the problems earlier in the Agile design process. There was a lack of team coordination with poor hand-offs between architects, developers, and product owners.I facilitated a series of four problem solving sessions, beginning with influencing team members to overcome their resistance to change. My role focused on soliciting everyone’s input, defining disconnects, completing value stream mapping, and prioritizing opportunities.
