I never really knew what I wanted to do when I grow up. I’ve always liked learning new things and being challenged in the process. I studied chemistry during my bachelor, but when it was time to choose a master it was then, that for the first time, I really felt I knew what I wanted. I applied for the Top Master Nanoscience, which allowed me to learn new skills in the field of physics, giving me a great setup to do research in an interdisciplinary environment. Durint my PhD I worked in an area where chemistry and physics meet; I used polymers to template networks of metal oxides with the goal of making materials that could be used for brain-inspired computing. This project allowed me to work independently in a team environment; where I was responsible for planning my own project and in charge of my samples from fabrication to measurements. I find joy in helping people, either by brainstorming about their project, teaching them a new skill, or teaching a class. I like to be challenged to solve problems and work on finding optimizations to issues and, most of all, I like to keep learning, both in my professional and personal life. I’m driven and disciplined and I will work on a skill until I’ve mastered it. In my free time I enjoy being active, I spend a lot of time in the gym doing CrossFit, where I'm also active as a coach, and I like to conduct my own experiments in the kitchen - I cook and bake a lot.
