About Sanne Høybye

My interest herein stems from a conviction of the power of psychology in a wide array of fields. In other words, that the knowledge of human nature can contribute to a diverse portfolio, from the quality of life for the individual to the way a store is designed or the optimization of work routines among other things.My general approach is resource focused and I strongly believe that every:person, situation, system and organisation contains resources, which can be cultivated into an adaptive function. This believe does not stem from a naive form of optimism, but rather a pragmatic approach to the world. In short - my outlook on life resembles a puzzle, which has to be assembled in just the right manor to fit a given situation. Therefore I do not support “one size fits all” solutions to psychological challenges. Instead I believe that with a thorough understanding of the issues at hand it becomes possible to create an evidence based solution to a given challenge.Such a solution is not necessarily confined to a narrow understanding of the field of psychology, but can possibly drawn on the many inter disciplinary paradigms within psychology. In my pragmatic & eclectic approach I draw on various areas within psychology, such as: personality, social, cultural, evolutionary, positive, cognitive, systemic, work and organizational psychology - as well as neuro-science and behavioral economics.The reasoning behind such a diverse approach originates from a wish to avoid being blinded by any given convictions within a certain paradigm. Furthermore it allows me to view a given challenge from a micro to a macro perspective, which of course will vary depending on the task at hand. In summation I would describe myself as a psychologist who enjoys applying psychology in new & innovative ways.
