As a data conversion specialist, most of the work includes extraction of the new customer’s data from their legacy HR & Payroll systems, analyze the data (as well as pre-screening for the accuracy of data detecting errors and inconsistencies), transform the data into Ceridian Dayforce HCM specific format and load them into the Dayforce system. This role also requires direct interaction with the customers as well as Ceridian’s internal team members (such as Implementation Consultants) for data mapping related inquiries or proposal of an effective approach to convert the customer’s current system data into the new payroll system to meet their need. During the process of extracting the data from various HR/Payroll platforms have gathered detailed knowledge on the data structure for some of the well-known HR/Payroll systems such as Ultimate, ADP, Millennium etc. Currently also leading the global data conversion effort in the global space for countries around the globe and actively participating in building processes or modifying existing processes for global data conversion activities to facilitate a seamless experience for the customers and for internal teams.

During this tenure, most of the work were conducted at customer sites as a Project Lead & Senior Programmer in the maintenance, support, and development activities for 2 of most renowned customers in Payroll and Financial Services – “Ceridian Tax Service” and “Wachovia Securities” (currently “Wells Fargo Advisors”) to provide support to their applications along with designing, requirement analysis, estimation, code changes, testing and delivery management. Within this capacity also managed an offshore team of 15-20 team members as a technical lead.

Worked as a Programmer in the maintenance and development project for the well-known logistic service provider in Denmark “Maersk Logistics” and the primary duties were maintenance/support of the application, analysis, coding using PowerBuilder, T-SQL along with Unit testing of the development activities, documentation of the technical designs and improvement of the existing process.

Worked in a data warehousing project for the 3 leading insurance companies in India (National Insurance Ltd, New India Assurance Ltd and United India Insurance Ltd) to extract the data from their legacy systems and then transform the data into the required format and loaded into the central repository to generate statistical reports. The duties for this project were production support of the application, prioritizing of the production issues, fixing of the issues or bugs in the system, designing new components in PL/SQL as well as in Unix Shell scripts to improve the performance.
