Santee Smith is an artistic leader, award-winning director, producer and choreographer. Through her work she celebrates her Onkwehonwe (Iroquois), Kahnyen’kehàka (Mohawk Nation) culture. Santee is considered a specialist in Indigenous arts and culture. In 2005, she founded Kaha:wi Dance Theatre – a company that explores the intersection of Indigenous and new dance theatre and performance and vehicle for her artistic expression.
