Tech Lead, Oct 2004 to May 2013• Reported to the Engineering Manager and manage programs for design of automotive turbocharger parts & systems – long route exhaust gas recirculation (LREGR) and Generation 2 – through full project lifecycle stages of benchmarking, concept development, prototype, testing & validation & commercial production.• Manage validation & verification tests at the part, system & product levels as per relevant ISO & ASTM standards. Prepare test instructions, monitor and analyse test results & generate reports. The tests include SO2, salt spray, foreign object damage, water injection, thermal, sub zero temperature & fouling tests to determine product life & durability.• Conduct simulation studies to determine gaps in key performance parameters like fuel efficiency of Honeywell & competitor products.• Coordinate with cross functional teams such as manufacturing, program management, SCM, reliability and the vendor base in turbocharger component design projects including APQP process and phase exit reviews facilitating design to cost & design to assembly/manufacturing.• Execute tolerance stack-up analysis for complete turbocharger assembly.• Lead improvement projects based on value analysis value engineering (VAVE) FEA studies and Six Sigma DMAIC & DMADV methodologies delivering desired design & cost benefits.• Manage projects including schedules, technical reviews, internal & external communications and interaction with global partners for on time and accurate deliverables.
