The Access to Justice Design Lab is a joint venture between the Universidad de los Andes´ Design, Engineer, and Law Schools inspired and supported by the Legal Design Lab at Stanford University created with the goal of exploring, design and prototyping a wide range of new legal products to overcome barriers that hinder access to justices. It is conceived as an innovation hub to create a new generation of academic products related to Legal Tech, Legal Design and Tech Law in four strategic areas: (i) impact of innovation and new technologies in the legal profession; (ii) regulatory and ethical challenges of legal innovation and new technologies; (iii) smart judicial and legal organizational models; and (iv) transformation of legal education.• Procured a three-year Tinker Foundation Grant for USD$100,000 for the building a research & development infrastructure for legal innovation. • Prototyped a format to allow for more liability and efficiency in the selection process in the Colombia Constitutional Court. • Prototyped a Digital Case Management System for the Colombian Constitutional Court• Prototyped a template for the Rapporteur Office of the Colombian Peace Tribunal to enhance public access to the Tribunal docket. • Prototyped an app for the Office of Congresswoman Juanita Goebertus to promote entrepreneurship among former guerrilla members that are part of the disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration process

El Reconstituyente is the first-ever Podcast in Colombia dedicated to constitutional law and judicial history based on a narrative that breaks away completely with how lawyers traditionally communicate.• Created and developed so far 12 episodes about constitutional law and judicial history around areas such as abortion, same-sex marriage, right to access to the internet, among others. • +500 download on averages per episode in 15 countries around the world.

Law Clerk for justice Natalia Ángel Cabo

The Data Analytics Office of the City of Bogotá's Public Safety and Justice Department oversees the design and implementation of the city’s public policy on public safety and access to justice based on quantitative and qualitative evidence and the promotion of open data.• Lead a 12-person multidisciplinary team of economists, social scientists, and data scientists responsible for all the data analysis for the Department. • Coordinate the design process of an impact evaluation methodology for the new model of patrol deployment implemented in Bogotá since 2020. • Oversaw the publication of 48 policy briefs on public security and access to justice prepared for the Head of the Department and the Office of the Mayor of Bogotá. • Supervised a 10-person team, funded by a one-million-dollar grant from the Colombian government, responsible for the formulation and implementation of a minimum viable product of an analytic predictive model for crime prevention in Bogotá. • Advised the design of the goals and benchmarks on crime prevention and access to justice for the City of Bogota's 2020-2024 Development Plan.• Represented the Head of the Department in the monthly Local Security & Justice Councils at Kennedy and Suba, the two largest boroughs of Bogotá.

The Colombian Peace Tribunal was created by the 2016 Peace Accord signed between the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia and the Colombian Government to implement a transitional justice system that would guarantee the prosecution and conviction of the main perpetrators as well as the protection of the victim’s rights to truth and reparation.• Participated in the drafting of the first memorandum regarding the special sanction system of the Peace Tribunal.• Drafted an empirical report analyzing the first 100 decisions of the Tribunal to identify structural problems in the implementation of the transitional justice system and possible long-term remedies.

Law Clerk for justice Gloria Stella Ortiz Delgado. • Drafted the decision that ordered the Colombian Ministry of Education, to develop a statewide policy for protecting victims of bullying on the basis of sexual orientation and/or gender identity • Wrote the draft of the judgment that commanded the National Registrar Office to change the birth certificate format, in order to allow the inscription of same-sex parents• Reviewed, under the instruction of the Justice, the proposed decisions other Justices submitted to their peers; evaluated, commented and suggested changes to these projects; participated in the discussions justices had on the questions referred to the court • Coordinated the team in charge of studying the constitutionality of the amendments introduced to the constitution, related to the Peace Process with the FARC rebel group • Supervised the reform of the internal procedure handbook of the Court that was implemented in 2016• Presented the decision that stated that safe and legal abortion is part of the attention protocol that the State has to offer to victims of sexual violence, in the context of armed conflict • Headed the Unidad de Tutelas, a new dependence created by the Court to optimize the case selection process, and implement reforms for maximizing its transparency

Staff Attorney. • Organized the Gender and Justice Uncovered Awards, a yearly activity that highlights the decisions made in the context of a legal process related to sexual rights, gender violence, and gender discrimination • Authored a handbook on legal abortion that summarized the rules for the protection on this fundamental right; 1000 copies of this manual were distributed among judges, public officials, activists, women’s organizations and health providers • Administered the Gender and Justice Observatory, a global reference database of more than 500 judicial decisions, regarding gender equality and sexual and reproductive rights • Participated in the drafting of a legal claim submitted by 1,500 women, that requested public officials to inform the public about sexual and reproductive rights in an objective and neutral way; organized a group of 50 men that filed an amicus brief in the process, supporting the women claims • Oversaw a legal induction program directed to judges and activists in Colombian rural areas, designed to explain the constitutional framework of abortion in 15 cities of the country • Headed a global internship program that recruited 20 foreign attorneys and human rights activists; supervised their work and managed the project in which the interns were involved • Lobbied in the Congress against a bill criminalizing abortion, promoted by the Colombian Conservative Party and some religious organizations; participated in meetings with 15 congressmen and congresswomen• Sponsored administrative claims against ten health providers that abstained from practicing safe abortions, therefore unobserving the Colombian law
