Work Highlights:• SparKubes: led the creation of SparKubes, standalone tangible objects with simple behaviors, used to create low-resolution widgets to control appliances like computers or mobile devices. They enable seamless interactions between devices and serve as a play-based learning tool for preschoolers, offering tangible exploration of physical properties and early exposure to computing paradigms.• iSwarm: interactive installation at iLight Marina Bay 2014, captivating 685,000 visitors with its simulated light reminiscent of natural phenomena. The installation reacted to visitors, changing its pattern and color, to create a poetic, spirited experience that felt natural yet technologically advanced experience.• Birdie: exploration of a novel sensory experience as a first step towards a genuine flying experience. With the use of a tele-existence concept an augmented human controls an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) remotely. Simultaneously, the human receives multi-sensory feedback including vision and sound. By augmenting human senses, Birdie aims to transcend the limitations of traditional flight simulations and provide a more authentic airborne sensation.

Conducted research on modeling and understanding of human behavior from sensory data such as video, motion capture and audio.Carnegie Mellon University - Human Sensing Lab with Prof. Fernando De La Torre, highlights:• IntraFace: development of an interface for facial image analysis, with wide-ranging applications in fields such as military, health, wellness, and robotics. It integrates modules for facial feature detection, attribute recognition (e.g., gender, ethnicity, age), expression analysis, and face de-identification.• Caremedia: deployment of a sensor network in nursing homes and independent living facilities to enhance the health and wellness of individuals with dementia and the elderly. The system monitors behavioral trends and depression symptoms, providing clinicians with insights to improve treatment decisions.

Developed Robotics Solutions at LaSalle Robotics Research Group while also serving as a Teaching Assistant for Digital Systems Design, focusing on VHDL and FPGA implementation.Highlights:• Led the design and development of an embedded, low-power, and cost-effective CNN camera sensor based on FPGA, offering an affordable and accessible solution for integrating vision into robots and enabling interactive activities.• LSInvaders: developed a platform to explore human-robot collaboration in smart homes, where autonomous robots co-work with humans in a cross-reality environment, integrating Kinect technology and LSMaker Robots.• LSZigbeeBoard: developed a novel platform based on Zigbee that enables control of multiple home-robots and smart appliances allowing them to work collaboratively.

Developed a fully functional proof of concept for an internet-based drug delivery system aimed at managing and monitoring drug treatments while collecting patient feedback.
