Managed an environment having Oracle Databases, Vertica database clusters, Postgres and MySQL databases.Manage Oracle Physical Standby (Dataguard) for disaster recovery.Manage Oracle Logical Standby databases for querying.Script the daily creation of two databases using SAN snapshot.Scripted silent install of Oracle database 10.2.0.1 and application of 10.2.0.3 patchInstalled Vertica database 4.1.7 on a three node cluster. Upgraded it to 5.1 and then 6.0Scripted startup / shutdown of Vertica cluster. Scripted cloning of DEV Vertica cluster from production.Improved Vertica database performance by creating and tuning appropriate projections.Installed and configured Postgres 8.4 and upgraded Postgres 8.4 to 9.1Configure postgres parameters for optimum performance.Configured Postgres Hot Standby for load balancing and reporting purposes.

Performed regular clone of non-prod instance from production. Brought down cloning time of Oracle Applications system and 4 auxiliary databases from three days to one day.Wrote a very detailed cloning document listing every step in the cloning of the Apps instance and the 4 auxiliary databases that connect to the Apps database.Developed RMAN backup scripts for backing up to tape and disk. Used these backups in the cloning process.Applied Romania Localization patches.

Rearchitected the DMZ External Middle Tier to have just the Reverse Proxy Server on the External Tier.HTTPS Enable the Reverse Proxy DMZ ServerShell Scripted the Cloning process thereby reducing the cloning time by half.Analysed and applied CPU patches from July-2005 to April-2008Upgraded Database, Forms, Middle Tier JRE, Jinitiator, ATG, AD and HRMS Family pack.Tuned and Load balanced Middle Tier JVMs for 250 users using self-service applications.Analyzed and purged Workflow to improve performance and reduce storageConfigured external Load balancer with 10g AS Forms and Reports Services.Identified problem of Oracle reports getting corrupted when checked into version control.
