As Chairperson of AI-Driven Sri Lanka, a national-level project of IEEE, I am committed to fostering collaboration and innovation within the AI community. Our project initially focused on bridging the gap between undergraduates and graduates in the AI industry. However, this year, we're expanding our scope to encompass a broader approach.This year, we're excited to introduce a groundbreaking platform where companies, startups, and students can showcase their AI-based products and services. This initiative not only highlights the growth of the AI industry in Sri Lanka but also provides AI engineers with a platform to demonstrate their skills and companies with an opportunity to recruit top talent.Furthermore, we hope to organize panel discussions and sessions led by industry experts, offering invaluable insights for newcomers to the field.

AI-Driven Sri Lanka is a national project by IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka that strives to bridge the gap between undergraduates and graduates of the AI Industry. Our tech programs are equipped with the latest AI technologies, research and trends to inspire tech enthusiasts to transform tomorrow's world by bringing their ideas into a reality.The program included three types of initiatives.Community Talks with AI Experts:Engaging and insightful discussions with AI experts, exploring the profound impact of AI on various aspects of our lives.AI Bootcamp:Equipping students with the latest AI technologies, research, and trends, our bootcamp focused on fine-tuning Generative AI skills, ensuring participants were well-versed in cutting-edge AI methodologies.AI Hackathon:Witnessing the brilliance of undergraduates in Sri Lanka as they competed in a spirited AI Hackathon to develop finely-tuned AI chatbots. It was a platform where creativity met technical prowess.More than 1500 undergraduates in Sri Lanka joined for these projects.

As Chairperson of the IEEE Student Branch, I lead initiatives aimed at fostering technological innovation and bridging the gap between academia and industry. At the outset of our term, we achieved the distinction of having the highest number of IEEE members nationally and ranked 4th globally in IEEEXtreme participation.Our mission is embodied in our slogan, "Innovate, Elevate, Inspire".Under this guiding principle, our Student Branch, along with its three chapters, is dedicated to cultivating a dynamic environment that propels aspiring engineers toward excellence.Our commitment to fostering innovation is manifested through strategic programs such as IEEE Day, PrologueX, CodeSprint, IndSight, Illuminate, Xplorer, and IX 24. These initiatives not only empower students and young professionals but also provide them with valuable opportunities to create cutting-edge solutions and garner industry recognition.

IX 23 is the 3rd iteration of IEEE in IIT's annual Designathon, which brings together students from various universities across the country. This event serves as a platform for participants to showcase their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and technical skills in the field of design and user experience, with a particular focus on integrating XR (Extended Reality) concepts introduced by Apple's new Vision OS design standards.This was the first XR based UI/UX competition in the country and more 600+ undergraduates from 19 universities competed this event.As the Program and Logistics Co-Chair my responsibilities were to strategically plan the timelines and the flow of the event, handle 600+ delegates and execute all plans accordingly. The first round was held virtually with the help of 3 workshops in which some were physically held. The final round was a 24 hour physical competition where the top 10 teams competed for the main prizes.

CodeSprint 7.0 is a competition that aims at nurturing and guiding the students from an ideation stage through to the implementation stage of a Tech Based Start-up Business organised by the IEEE student branch of IIT. It had more than 1300 delegates participating from 18 universities in the country.As the Industry Outreach Coordinator my responsibilities were,• Developing outreach strategies• Building relationships and managing communications• Managing the 20 compny partners we had• Collaborating with the organising committee• Promoting the event

During my tenure, I was able to chair our signature project 'Vivace 2019'. Vivace is the western music day of our society which also consists of the only inter-school beat band competition in the country, 'Vivace Competitions'. It is also one of the biggest projects organised by a school. It consisted of two main phases, 'Vivace Competitions' and the grand finale 'Vivace 2019' which was held in the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall.Apart from that, we organised auditions for our western beat band within the school and held various workshops for students interested in music as other projects.
