• Wrote my bachelor Thesis in the Regensburg Medical Image Computing (ReMIC) lab. In this project I used Deep Learning to develop medical image computing tools to assist in the detection of laparoscopic tools during surgery. • The objective of this thesis is to implement a one-stage object detection network and train it to detect laparoscopic instruments in real time video images. Then, adapt the network to be able to predict rotating bounding boxes with arbitrary orientation in the most optimal way.• The artificial neural network model was developed using Pytorch, python in a Linux environment.
