Along with the Director, oversees the Brutality Project and the creation and implementation of larger organizational goals with regards to the Brutality Project and systemic legal advocacy concerning prisoners’ rights. Investigates accusations of correctional staff abuse against incarcerated individuals, with an average of 250-300 active cases at a given point. Works closely with clients, offering emotional support and legal advocacy. Corresponds with local and state officials, Department of Correction officials, and other correctional staff. Liaison to the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center. Along with Director, supervises interns and law students. Temporary Chair for the Women’s Incarceration Conditions and Reentry Project from March 2023 - September 2023.

The Ella Baker Young Adult Fellowship seeks to develop young adult youth workers, facilitators and organizers in becoming effective leaders and staff, to strengthen movement building and infrastructure. Grounded in organizing, mental health and collective care, transformative justice and popular education around racial, economic, gender, queer and disability justice.

Worked closely with the organizing team to build and expand grassroots organizing capacity in Lowell and Worcester with the focus on key education justice issues (including but not limited to funding and key local issues); Co-developed grassroots strategy for advocating and improving public education in Lowell and Worcester, centering our most impacted students, parents, and educators; Built relationships with key organizations and community members including youth, parents, and educators with the goal of drawing them into the movement and increasing youth, parent and educator voices in the education justice landscape; Organized and co-facilitated community meetings (including but not limited to meetings, popular education, information, and advocacy events about education funding and racial equity issues).

Supported Fair Share for Massachusetts in digital content creation, voter turnout, text banking, and more to encourage MA voters to vote Yes on #1 for the Fair Share Amendment for public education and transportation. Aided in messaging around historical racial inequality in MA, teacher shortages, and climate justice as it relates to reliable transportation and better schools.

Facilitated social justice-based seminars and trainings for young people in Boston. Advised 6 young people through youth leadership growth. Revised, created, and implemented social justice curriculum. Received training on popular education facilitation, youth support, and transformative justice.

Assisted professor with policy and activism course for approximately 10 hours a week. Held office hours every week for students in the course who may need extra support. Ordered supplies, helped organize lessons, and ensured students and professor have all necessary materials for course.

Coordinated with other assistants and program director to schedule and organize student events every weekend. Collaborated with clubs on campus to schedule and plan their own weekend events for students. Advertised student events on campus through social media, posters, and other media. Helped track and organize program budgeting and payment for programming.

Managed and oversaw all official social media platforms for the organization—Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Advertised organization events and workshops. Created weekly posts concerning upcoming events, workshops, tournaments, and other content relating to the mission of the organization, including informational graphics. Curated daily re-posts from content creators and organizations with similar missions as the organization. Created and oversaw social media campaigns to engage with audience.

Completed rigorous 6.5-week internship focused on getting high-achieving students from under-resourced schools prepared for college. Worked closely with a teaching partner to plan lessons—though executed separately—for one section of 8th grade English Language Arts focused on mastering writing and reading skills. Adapted existing curriculum and community norms to an online format and developed skills in Zoom facilitation and Google Classroom. Worked with an instructional coach to receive and act upon frequent feedback around lesson planning and teaching skills. Led an advisory of 7 students, meeting twice weekly as a group for an hour, and once a week individually with each advisee and covered fostering relationships and community, as well as social-emotional skills.

Completed rigorous teacher training and 6-week internship focused on getting high-achieving students from under resourced schools prepared for college. Worked closely with a teaching partner to plan lessons—though executed separately—for two sections of 8th grade literature. Taught 14 rising 8th graders key concepts in literature in 60 hours of instructional time to prepare them for the upcoming school year. Worked with an instructional coach to receive and act upon frequent feedback about teaching performance. As Grade Level Captain for the 8th grade, led a team of 7 8th grade teachers through weekly meetings, facilitated conversations about student performance and how to best support them, and acted as a mediator between the 8th grade team and Breakthrough administration.

Completed research on the connection between music lessons and youth development to help ZUMIX secure multiple grants. Solicited donations from both individuals and private business owners to support ZUMIX’s free music class program. Acted as initial contact point for vendors participating in ZUMIX’s Annual Radio Block Party. Regularly updated and organized ZUMIX’s Bloomerang database to ensure easy access to donor information.

Used social media to promote ZUMIX events such as the Summer Concert Series. Wrote blog posts to bring awareness to ZUMIX events, summer classes, and staff highlights. Collaborated with other offices to assist in handling other programs and events within ZUMIX.

Collaborated with a team of other teens to plan and facilitate a showcase at the end of the summer to expand the museum’s teen audience. Used social media to promote new exhibit created to showcase the work of local teen artists.
