I have been running Blurb, a bespoke, creative, digital PR and marketing agency based in Goa, India (www.blurbgoa.com) for the past 10 years. I have consulted around 200 hospitality and lifestyle brands on how to grow, including contributing to the growth of some of India's leading restaurants. I was co-founder of Neokul, an ed-tech startup focused on innovating pedagogy, which was selected for funding by Build3, a venture builder. My prior background for 13 years was in video production, as a producer, director, editor and trainer, both in India and in the U.S. at Berkeley Community Media. During that time, I worked for Discovery Asia, UTV, Babblefish (Only Much Louder), Prime Focus, MTV World, and others. I have a deep interest in entrepreneurship and have been privileged to participate in many training programmes beginning with the Goldman Sachs 10000 Women programme at the Indian School of Business, Build 3's accelerator, IIMB/NSRCEL, Favcy, Level Up by 91 Springboard and Google and others. I've won a few marketing awards including the She The People's Digital Women but my most fulfilling work has been thanks to a Digital Media and Learning grant from the MacArthur Foundation. The $100,000 award enabled me to train young women from around India (one from each of India's 30 states) to create videos on social issues and upload them every month for a year. This was before smart phones were available and the 200 videos produced in 2010-11 are still available on YouTube on the WAVE India channel.In my spare time, I enjoy reading plays, playing football and spending time on the beach.
