A contrasting role from my previous role as a police officer. Working in an office compared to busy cities took time getting used to however I have embraced office culture and relish opportunity to get to the very top. The aim at HM Revenue & Customs was to transfer across to the Fraud Investigation Service which would link in to my previous experience held as a police constable. The work I have been involved in thus far to enhance my skills is as follows:-Handling Incoming calls from customers.- Using various systems to record customers compliance/non compliance- Updating records and sending risk reports off to the RIS unit. (risk intelligence service)- Handling complex tax queries ensuring they are resolved quickly- Dealing with various tax expense claims ensuring correct procedures are adhered to either accept or reject the claims. - Identifying, recording and resolving customer complaints.

A moral and trustworthy job, police officers are generally respected and known as people that can always help, from giving directions on the street to aiding victims when their house gets broken into. You’ll always be at the scene. One of the most important roles of the police force is being a visible presence on the streets and preventing crime when it takes place. A position of authority, you do have the unique power of arrest but a lot of your working day will actually be taken up with tasks such as: - Ability to influence positive outcomes.- Time management Skills- Prepare cases for trial and appeared and testified in court as a witness.- Conduct covert, undercover investigations to uncover on-going crimes- Mediate domestic-related disturbances and protected victims from harm.- Participate in high-speed vehicle chases in serious and emergency situations.- Responded quickly to dispatch and took appropriate action at disasters.-  Effective team working.-  High levels of problem solving and investigating.-  Effective communicator - written and verbal, on all levels.-  Respect for diversity.-  Skilled negotiator.-  Resilience and a positive approach to work.-  Takes personal responsibility for actions.- Leading and developing a team

During my time here I learnt how great communication and interpersonal skills have an impact on a customers experience when purchasing an item/experience in retail. I found that little things make a customer remember an experience and I always sought to please my customers in every way possible. I received specific great feedback regarding the services I provided on various questionnaires as well as on the Facebook group for customer reviews at Cineworld, which I was extremely pleased with. I was then promoted to run a team of 10-15 members of staff which involved working in situations which involve authority, leadership, meeting targets and deadlines, and conflict.
