Working as a trainee through Individuell Människohjälp (IM), but is based at ASAP, their local partner organization, in Blantyre, Malawi. ASAP focuses on improving social and economic rights for rural marginalized women through self-help initiatives. My main responsibilities include: - Fundraising: Applying for grants. - Advocacy: Supporting work with advocacy groups in terms of human rights issues, including a special focus on decreasing domestic violence and sexual violence towards women and girls. - Fieldwork: Supporting the ASAP fieldwork team in training micro-credit finance groups and educating and supporting them in starting and maintaining small-scale businesses. - Social media: Developing a new webpage for ASAP (http://www.asapmw.org/), and creating and working with other social media such as blogs, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. - Workshops: Training in Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (PMEL).- Report writing and Documentation: Documenting projects and stories in the field and co-writing quarterly reports. - MIS: Entering and managing field data in the Management Information System (MIS).

CEDAC work to support victims of armed violence through social and economic reintegration of ex-combatants. Furthermore, focus is on reducing political violence and stop small-arms trade. My main responsibilities while working at CEDAC included the following:- Fieldwork: Visited and worked with our beneficiaries in Bujumbura rural, focusing on psychosocial support and micro-credit finance to overcome trauma and work together for economic empowerment and to decrease political violence. - Workshops: Organized and taught during workshops with peer support workers, primarily focusing on mediation, active listening skills, interview methods, and techniques to combat political violence. - Fundraising: Contacted donors regarding grants and funds.- Advocacy: Been in contact with national and international institutions and informed them about CEDAC and their vision as one part of the advocacy work. - Social media: Updated the webpage and other social media by writing articles and documenting progress on the ground.
