Responsibilities include: ‣Lobbying UK Government, Parliament and the EU on priority issues ‣Internal communications to PSC members including: action alerts, fundraising appeals and weekly e-updates ‣Media liaison ‣Writing policy briefings, speech notes and speeches ‣Organising events, including supporter reception in the Commons and Party Conference events‣Managing website content Key achievements include: ‣Currently organising my fourth National Lobby of Parliament for Palestine: recruiting support from over 20 organisations and coordinating hundreds of meetings ‣Lobbied against a downgrading of Britain's Universal Jurisdiction, from pre-legislative stage through all Bill stages, achieving some of our policy aims; namely to prevent alleged war criminals from entering the UK ‣Led a multi-faith campaign ‘Act Now for Jerusalem’ Including: launch in Commons; cross-organisation petition; MPs’ adjournment debate, and public demonstrations. Currently focused on preventing imminent demolition of homes ‣Commissioned a new website according to organisational priorities and on deadline

Along with Labour Party colleagues, founded Labour Friends of Palestine & the Middle East. This followed our visit to the region as part of a Parliamentary delegation (September 2007), and our dismay that no organisation existed to supporting peace and justice for Palestinians within the Labour Party.This involved: Acting as Secretary for the new organisation Setting up consultation meetings with MPs and organisations Establishing an interim constitution Recruiting interns and volunteers Organising and funding launch events including a highly successful reception in the House of Commons and at Labour Party Conference
