  I work with at-risk families to help prevent child abuse and neglect in the KC metro area. I conduct safety checks, nutritional assessments, developmental screenings, connect the families w/ resources in their community, and conduct numerous other assessments. I also write goals with the clients, based on their current stressors that help to direct the services provided. I conduct safety checks, nutritional assessments, developmental screenings, connect the families w/ resources in their community, and conduct numerous other assessments. I also write goals with the clients, based on their current stressors that help to direct the services provided. This is a very intensive program that begins w/ weekly visits at baby's birth (or prenatally) and gradually progresses to biweekly, monthly and finally, quarterly visits at the time of the family's graduation, around 3 years of age. I also help to organize quarterly groups for our families and of course, keep up on all of the paperwork and reporting that comes with social services!
