I am a results-driven communications specialist with a broad experience in writing dynamic content across all media and market sectors. I believe in using clear and concise language that is accessible to all. Before working with LMC, I was immersed in the office and consumer products industry as co-director of OPN, a distributor of European brands including Alba, Han and Schneider. Responsibilities included operations, HR, compliance and building brand awareness. I successfully launched several product ranges into online market places with optimised content, these included Amazon, Wayfair and onBuy. I also created numerous winning tender bids and industry competition entries for OPN's brands.Prior to this I ran Ink Marketing, a PR and copywriting consultancy working with companies such as Balfour Beatty and Kier Group. I also worked with clients in the web, graphic design, leisure and telecoms industries. The scope of work included both on and off-line content to improve their profiles and gain wider exposure resulting in new business. I consulted on internal communications, change management and damage limitation helping organisations overcome challenging periods. Before Ink, I worked in-house at Kier Group plc. I gained valuable experience and training in all aspects of public relations such as managing and renewing the corporate identity and being involved the financial communications which saw the company successfully float on the stock exchange. A highlight was launching Kier Group’s first website. I trained at The Italia Conti Academy on the Three Year Performing Arts course and on graduating helped the academy launch a drama department for which I managed operations for six years, helping turn the diploma course into an Honours Degree. I still use my acting training every day, to get into character and adopt the correct tone of voice for my writing projects. VolunteeringI am a trustee of the BOSS Business Supplies Charity. Trustees influence the investment of a large fund and make decisions to help the lives of those who have fallen on hard times. I help organise fundraising events such as charity days and encourage corporate and personal giving at industry events. I provide writing services and visit beneficiaries to award grants. I am also a passionate fundraiser for the Institute of Cancer Research. Most recently, I helped to organise and host a charity ball which involved creating an identity, seeking sponsorship and raffle prizes, ticket sales, dressing the venue, and organising the catering and entertainment. We raised £10k.
