PhD research topic: spectroelectrochemical and catalytic studies of gold materials.Experiments were conducted at the Physics department of Stockholm University and at Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY, Hamburg, Germany).- Designing a thin-film electrochemical cell for operando spectroscopy experiments.- Investigating how electrochemical protocols affect the surface properties of gold films after oxide-derived gold (OD-Au) is formed.- CO oxidation studies using gold nanoparticles supported on TiO2 and Fe2O3 as catalysts.- Defining safety protocols for handling CO in the lab.- Lab management: buying chemicals and equipment, overseeing chemical inventory.Techniques:- Operando optical sum frequency generation spectroscopy (laser spectroscopy)- High-pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy- X-ray absorption spectroscopy (HERFD-XANES)- Mass spectrometrySupervisor: Prof. Tony HanssonCo-supervisor: Dr. Sergey Koroidov
