- Main activity: Screening of a library of small molecules to identify pharmacological chaperones active on Frizzled4-FEVR, a Frizzled4 receptor misfolded variant. - Achievements: The pharmacological chaperone FZM1 was identified and characterized also as the first allosteric modulator of Frizzled-4 wt receptor. - Acquired skills: Hands-on experience of cell cultures and biochemical assays (cell transfection, immunofluorescence, microscopy, protein extraction, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot) and molecular biology techniques (PCR, agarose gel electrophoresis, plasmid amplification and protein expression in bacteria).
