In the second project, I researched about the effect of different α-synuclein conformations and its relation with Multiple System Atrophy. The accumulation of α-synuclein in the astrocytes causes autophagic failure and, consequently, α-synuclein is suggested to be taken up by neighboring neurons, spreading the disease. Exosomes could act as useful biomarkers for the diagnosis, prediction and prognosis of anaphylaxis.
