Developed communications materials to highlight research impacts, including web and newsletter content, social media content, and digital graphics. Collaborated with multiple teams to develop and execute strategic communication plans and track results. Increased awareness of research projects through translating results for the public, promoting tools and resources for general and technical audiences. Cultivated positive relationships with researchers, partners, and stakeholder communities through prompt and thoughtful communication.

Supported the public information team in identifying and publicizing Earth and space science from AGU journals and meetings. Wrote and distributed AP-style blog posts, press releases, media advisories and social media posts. Collaborated with the media relations team, the scientific community and public information officers to pitch stories to the media. Coordinated press events and provided on-site support during the AGU Fall Meeting.

Translated marine sciences and computer modeling research into content for print, digital and social media. Assisted with administrative tasks, data collection and analysis, development and event organization. Crafted media pitch sheets, maintained media contact list and tracked media coverage.

Executed the first annual Tour de Pork in Durham, a social media “passport” campaign engaging customers and driving traffic to local restaurant partners while highlighting company sustainability efforts. Assisted leadership team with marketing efforts, including best practices for social media to encourage stakeholder and customer engagement. Developed and executed a communications plan utilizing blog posts and social media focused on organizational sustainability activities with supply chain partners, chefs, and farmers to drive online engagement and increase sales.
