In this temporary position covering for paternity leave, I assisted in resource mobilization by mapping out donors and created a matrix focusing on potential strategic engagements. Gender Capacity Development Intern
As a part of my master, I did a 6 months internship at Mistra Urban Futures, conducting a gender analysis where I collected, compiled and analyzed data and information of processes of gender mainstreaming within research projects targeting urban sustainability issues in diverse socio-economic, environmental and geopolitical contexts. Based on the results of the report I suggested how gender issues further could be recognized, implemented and become significant parts of project design and methodology. Initiated targeted capacity building activities to increase staff understanding of how different power dynamics intersects causing a certain matrix of domination that echoes the particularities of a given time and place. Accordingly, I hosted and moderated a day with lectures and workshops on the importance of an intersectional perspective in research and practices aiming to contribute to the realization of just cities. Finally, I communicated editorials for Mistra Urban Futures on the importance of gender perspectives in urban planning.
Livelihood And Environmental Governance Intern
I obtained an internship at one of the Swallows India Bangladesh’s partner organizations in India, Keystone Foundation working to enhance the quality of life and the environment with indigenous communities using eco-development approaches. The internship was financed by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).Tasked to evaluate Keystone Foundation’s work and policies on gender equality, I performed a beneficiary assessment and gender analysis where I used qualitative methods like desk research, semi-structured interviews and field observations. The report illuminated how Keystone currently worked with gender and staff perceptions of the importance, need and challenges incorporating gender in their daily work. Based on the result, recommendations on how to work further to strengthening processes of gender mainstreaming were made.
