As an Innovation Manager at Zespri International, I lead and develop research programs that support the optimization of kiwifruit cultivation through sustainable practices. Having worked in the kiwifruit industry since 2015, combined with a master's degree in biochemical engineering, I understand the technical, environmental, market challenges and opportunities in this dynamic sector. My aim is to foster innovation and collaboration among Zespri, research partners, and industry stakeholders to identify and implement strategies that ensure long-term sustainability and growth. I currently lead a team of innovation leaders who facilitate research projects on kiwifruit bud break, orchard productivity, soil inputs, water use, market access and crop protection, aiming to deliver solutions that are environmentally sustainable, economically viable, and socially responsible. I believe in creating value for Zespri, growers, industry and customers by supporting the production of premium quality kiwifruit.
