Edit: No longer seeking employment. Currently teaching 3rd grade. Taught kindergarten previously for 4 years. I have, in the past, taught preschool age children (6 years), and first grade (1 year). This is the grade the I fell in love with. I student taught in third and fourth. I was the Teaching Supervisor for the Newspaper Club, which has 4-6th graders and have, in the past, supervised Yoga and Mindfulness Club as well as beginning ballet for the same age group. I enjoy being easy to work with, I enjoy being adaptable. I take pride in being easy to communicate with for parents and as a parent of two children under 13, myself, I know how it feels to be a parent. At the Catholic School I felt that my ability to embrace a subject so wholly out of my experience, and seek out information in order to teach it to the very best of my ability, speaks volumes to my willingness to adapt for my students and with changing educational landscapes. Additionally, I began teaching first grade before COVID. I taught through the pandemic and came out on the other side. I adapted to that and came through on the other side, as many other teachers did as well. Having that teaching experience shaped us all and I'm proud to be one who grew and changed with the times. Lastly, I think possibly the most important thing I bring to the table is my kindness. I have no problem being firm and consistent in the classroom and have honed my classroom management over the year. However, there is nothing I love more than being the person who gives them a smile, a kind word, a bit of consistent kindness they can count on. Whether they are in my classroom, a co-worker, a student from another grade level or a parent. You are safe with me, and I have a smile for you. It takes a great deal to make me angry or frustrated, and that presence is invaluable to a work environment of any kind.
