This was a CIHR funded post-doctoral fellow within the Action for Health Equity Interventions (ACHIEVE) program at the Centre for Research on Inner City Health at St. Michael’s Hospital. This project involved examining health care utilization following participation in a chronic disease self-management program. My responsibilities included planning and coordinating administrative data analyses with the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (Toronto), interpretation of results, budget/grant operational management, and disseminating results to key stakeholders across the country.

Consultation was provided to evaluate the inter-professional team dynamics of Ontario Family Health Teams and Community Health Centres. Using social network analyses and organizational behavior theory, consultation was provided around statistical analyses, interpretations and written reports for the Ontario Family Health Teams and Community Health Centres. Reports were specific to each multi-disciplinary team context and focused on concrete recommendations for improved team collaboration.

Conducted environmental scans and literature reviews on evidence-based practice (information seeking and research utilization) specifically related to rehabilitation professionals. Performed statistical analyses, interpretations and manuscript submissions related to factors associated with evidence-based practice among physical therapists treating stroke. Assisted with the development and implementation of externally funded grants. Coordinated the planning and implementation of a two-day workshop meeting, which involved the networking of key stakeholders in the area of stroke and rehabilitation best practices.

Coordinated the Ontario Rehabilitation Advisory Network (ORRAN), Health Services Theme group. This was a Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care sponsored initiative to help build capacity in rehabilitation and health services. In this position, I played a key role in recruiting potential members, working with members to develop key priority areas and strategic directions. I was responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of meetings and knowledge translation activities, managing the operational budget, and administration of pilot research funding.
