    I was responsible for selling and coordinating approximately 200 events per year ranging from two person meetings to weddings for up to 150 guests and conferences for up to 200 delegates for companies such as Nestle, Aon and Axa. Maintaining high standards and ensuring all details are correct is paramount as the smallest detail can make or break an event. Creating proposals and entering all information into Opera.Proactive follow up - keeping in touch with the client or agent to make sure only live enquiries are still in the system to aid company forecasting.Customer care - working with the client or agent throughout the organisation process to ensure a smooth journey and utilise all opportunities to upsell additional elements and enhance revenue.Liaising with suppliers on behalf of the client and hotel, and raise purchase orders.Communication - entering all information regarding any event into Opera to ensure that when the BEO is issued all departments have the information they require for the event to run smoothly.Follow up and actualisation - retrieving feedback after the event and actualising the Opera system according to the final bill to ensure all revenue streams are correct.Staff TrainingDeputising for the Event Office Manager, while on Annual Leave or Maternity LeaveCreating business reports for the GM, Sales Director and MD on a weekly and monthly basis.Forward thinking - I have created or transformed many processes within the office to streamline procedures. I have also actively found ways to increase revenue or reduce costs to increase profit. One recent example is the creation of a new Wedding Package for only 15 guests based on current Government COVID guidelines - which has been well received by both existing couples, and new couples.

    The main part of this role was the running of restaurant and bar shifts. Ordering stock and dealing with monies and staff. As well as this a majority of the role involved organising, marketing and managing various events. One of my many ideas that have been introduced in the bar is the use of Social Network sites to promote events and advertise the bar (Facebook profile had over 2000 friends when I left). Also the bar introduced a "Thirsty Thursday" card which entitles the owner of a card to 10% on Thursdays and various other events. This role also involved work in HR which included recruiting staff, creating rotas, performing appraisals and being involved in disciplinary hearings as well as assisting the General Manager in her role in meeting targets and budgets and keeping the team motivated. As well as this, I was involved in corporate events within the bar including organising and running fortnightly business breakfast networking meetings and other events such as race nights and quizzes and using these events to promote the bar at other times by talking to the customers who come to these events as they are not always our regular customers or our normal target group so this is a way of expanding our target market.
