I market the American Academy of Pediatrics line of books for parents and patient education brochures and booklets. AAP books are sold both to the book trade and direct to AAP members and other health organizations, so helping these books find their audience means creating traditional (but innovative!) book marketing campaigns as well as planning B2B and B2C initiatives, with a heavy focus on direct mail and email.

I converted the University’s print course catalog to an interactive online catalog, mapping more than 300 pages worth of content and writing and editing all new copy. I was also responsible for writing and editing student-facing communications from the office of the registrar and collaborating with faculty members on issues of curriculum and credit.

I acquired in American history and regional trade, both fiction and nonfiction, including two of the Press’s all time best sellers. I also served as interim sales and marketing manager.

I managed marketing and publicity for 60 new titles per year, plus backlist and distributed books.

While at IPG, I was promoted from publicity associate to publicist to publicity manager in in three years. As manager, I supervised a department of five, served as a publicity consultant to IPG client publishers, and ran national media campaigns for high-profile new releases.
