I have over 20 years experience in development and housing regeneration. My experience is gained from a career spanning business development, land acquisition and Development for registered providers and national contractors. I have a broad knowledge of the housing industry covering the workings of Registered Providers and Local Authorities as well as the refurbishment and construction of new homes (for both public and private sector), supported accommodation and extra care projects. In my previous role as Development Director I was responsible for setting business development strategies for the North East and securing all new work. New work is secured mainly through land lead opportunities and large scale regeneration and partnership bids. I have worked with most Registered Providers, Local Authorities and stock transfer organisation in the region on projects ranging from £1m to over £180m. Over the past 3 years I have successfully implemented improvement plans which have shortened lead in times for new developments and increased profit margins dramatically. I was responsible for securing new work and managing the Pre commencement process for private housing, joint ventures, partnership and regeneration and extra care projects as well as providing strategic direction to the board to achieve growth and profit expectations.
