Providing caregiver affect management skills supports positive parenting and increases a parent's ability to manage the family. Skills work with the children in the home and across settings focused on affect identification, affect expression, and self-modulation skills which increased coping skills and built self-esteem. Providing psycho-education of the various mental illnesses and aspects of trauma occured between myself and parents, caregivers, the child, and educators creating a thriving environment for the child. I facilitated team meetings including Coordinated Service Plans and completed paperwork for Medicaid and the State of Vermont. I also was a co-facilitator for “Prevent Child Abuse of Vermont (PCAV) Circle of Parents” and I sustained the self-help support group exploring parenting challenges and building on weekly successes.
