About Sara Kestenbaum
I am a third year student in the School of Hospitality Administration, majoring in hospitality administration. I have a passion for collaborating, leading others, and making a positive impact on the community. I have demonstrated these strengths in multiple positions, starting with my role as the high school's senior page editor and sports page creator and editor. Through the high school yearbook, I was able to create senior pages tailored to each individual and create sports pages that highlighted the success of our teams. In addition, during the spring of my senior year I was a student intern at a marketing firm called MOD. "Using applied neuroscience, we build cognitive maps of consumers and use them to decode subconscious decision-making and make market-level predictions" (MOD). Through my internship I was able to learn marketing skills and data test how a product is received by certain individuals through Electroencephalogram (EEG) headsets. In these roles I learned to adapt quickly and problem solve within a timely deadline. Now a junior at Boston University, I seek to continue new opportunities to expand my professional and personal development. I am enrolling in classes outside of my field of study such as Hospitality Law and Measuring Financial Value, to help me broaden my career knowledge. Additionally, I am a member of the Sigma Delta Tau Sorority on campus and plan on joining HerCampus in the spring. I hope to grow my involvement by joining a semester abroad program and becoming a transfer peer mentor. As a transfer peer mentor I hope to help new students navigate their first year. To continue growing my strengths of communication, problem solving, and adaptability, I look forward to engaging in a marketing internship in the future. Ultimately, I see myself pursuing an internship in marketing where I can improve the performance of products for companies.
