Also, Work in Coordination w/ Accountant.Fixed asset accountant position is accountable for recording the cost of newly-acquired fixed assets, tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, & accounting for the disposition of fixed assets. Principal Accountabilities:-Create/monitor a system of controls, procedures, & forms for the recordation of assets.-Recommend to management updates of accounting policies related to fixed assets.-Assign numbers to assets & develop a complete file record:Obtain all purchase information, Log taxes paid on the purchase for any tax audits, Assist in title transfers/title requests to proper entity, Compile complete file for the asset (Spec Sheets & photos)-Titling, Registering & renewals of all assets.-Develop lease agreements for specific assets between entities for assets to be covered under insurance.-Submissions of asset information to insurance for coverage.-Maintain Driver & Fuel Fleet Credit Cards-Process recalls issued on assets. -Work with dealerships/vendors/sellers & coordinate protocols for purchasing.-Reconcile & balance in fixed asset ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger.-Assist in calculating depreciation for all fixed assets.-Conduct periodic physical inventory counts assets.-Recommend to management to dispose an asset.-Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets, & assist auditors on inquiries.-Supply reports to prepare property tax returns.-Represent company during audits that involve fixed assets.-Maintain fleet drivers & fuel card requests/cancellation with PIN #’s -Establish & assist in Inventory audits for location(s). Work up inventory logs w/ categories and divisions. Assign pricing for all assets.-Supply asset listing w/ values for insurance company for all insured assets.-Assist in maintaining accurate logs of location of assets and transfers.-Code credit cards for accounting purposes & taxes, as well as, write offs.
