Sara started in the field as a researcher of climate change impacts. Looking to where she could personally make the greatest impact, she moved her career toward business sustainability, recognizing the significant opportunity to develop programs benefiting both the environment and business strategies.Sara currently leads the Sustainability and ESG program for JetBlue Airways based in NYC. She develops industry-leading ESG strategies and manages a series of operational programs in the airline's drive toward net zero by 2040 and its interim -50% per seat 2035 SBT. This includes the execution of 6 sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) agreements (of which 3 are delivering into JetBlue airports today), supporting 10+ investments in sustainable travel tech with our subsidiary JetBlue Ventures, conversion to airport electric ground vehicles, aircraft fuel-efficiency programs, and more.Sara was selected as one of GreenBiz's 2016 "30 under 30 - Emerging Sustainability Leaders" winners and JetBlue has won a series of sustainability awards including Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies in 2022 and World Finance's Most Sustainability Major Airline for 2022.
