In whatever I do, my desire is to serve people both near and far. Currently, my role is assistant manager at Big Dog Fleet Feet, where I help manage a team of outfitters to help the surrounding community reach their health and wellness goals. We are a speciality running store that seeks to bring people together through running, and encourage everyone to Live Big. This is a different role than what I have done in the past, and I got into this role to learn how I can better serve my community at the present time. Prior to this, I was working at the Coca Cola Space Science Center (CCSSC) where I was part of the Front Operations Team. I ran shows in our planetarium, gave tours of our NASA artifacts, worked the gift shop, and was also an alternate educator that would go out to schools within the distract and teach space science to K-3rd grade. My undergraduate degree is in Earth and Space Science with a focus on Astrophysics and Planetary Geology. During the last 2 years of undergrad, I was awarded NASA Space grants where I would conduct research at the CCSSC; that consisted of building a cubesat that was 3D printed in house, and solar observing with the telescope in the observatory.I thoroughly enjoyed geology, and switched from working on space science projects to geology projects. I worked on 4 projects; 2 of them in which the research was presented at 2 separate Geological Society of America (GSA) meetings, a Tower Day presentation (similar to a science fair on campus), and then a senior thesis my last semester. My thesis included collecting samples, analyzing them, and then a thesis paper; this was during COVID, and so I was not able to present my results at the GSA meeting that year.I have completed 1 year of graduate coursework at Auburn University, where I was working on a TA and worked on a Master's Thesis project focusing on planetary geology.My interests lie in space science, geology, and research; they have also broadened into other areas, such as software engineering, UX design, and data analytics. My skills have also grown to now managing social media accounts for business, monthly newsletters, event planning, and also coding certificates online.I enjoy switching roles, as it helps grow my knowledge in various areas. There is a technological component to all of this, which is also what I enjoy.I am eager to learn and have a passion for growing myself, as well as being the best I can be to continue serving others.
