Investigating and reviewing complaints of attorney misconduct made by the general public, courts and other parties and making determinations as to the appropriate course of action. Assisting in locating and interviewing the complaining witnesses, respondents and other relevant parties, explaining the functions and limitations of the discipline system. Assisting in gathering evidence, ordering court files, obtaining insurance files and issuing subpoenas for bank and other business records. Reviewing and analyzing the evidence and assists in determining if there is evidence of violation of the State Bar Act and/or Rules of Professional Conduct or instance of unauthorized practice of law and assists in making recommendations for further action. Arrangement for the appearance of witnesses to present testimony and may appear as a witness in administrative, civil or criminal proceedings.

Responsible for managing multiple types of investigations to include, but not limited to: theft of services, theft of company property, vandalism, forgery, fraud, embezzlement, workplace violence, assaults, and burglary. This includes employee or non-employee criminal behavior as it relates to the Company as well as conduct which violates company policy. Investigations involve, but are not limited to; theft of services, theft of company property, vandalism, forgery, fraud, embezzlement, workplace violence, assaults, and burglary.

Privately interview adults and children involved in conservatorship and guardianship cases. Explaining the court process, the legal rights of the protected adults and children, and the responsibilities of those who may be appointed to provide for and protect them. Production of reports summarizing the interview for the judge hearing the case. Preparation of analyses and comprehensive reports to judicial officers and collaboration with attorneys. Regularly meeting with conservatees’ and wards’ to determine whether the needs are being met by the conservator or guardian appointed to manage their personal and/or financial affairs.
