Sara A. McCue’s practice focuses on employment and fair housing compliance, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and public accommodations law. She represents and counsels housing providers, property management companies, the affordable housing industry, educational institutions, and employers in various industries. Sara provides day-to-day compliance advice, assists in policy creation and revision, and conducts internal workplace investigations. In addition, Sara represents clients in the defense of administrative claims, such as complaints filed with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Office for Civil Rights, and other federal, state, and local agencies. Sara is an experienced public speaker and trainer. She regularly provides fair housing compliance training on a number of topics, including discrimination and harassment claims under the Fair Housing Act, the Violence Against Women Act, and more. She also conducts workplace training on harassment prevention, reasonable accommodations, and other topics.Since 2022, Sara has been selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch® in the field of Labor and Employment Law Management.

I completed multiple reviews and edits of legal and scholarly articles, focusing on grammatical, stylistic, and legal citation edits. I also communicated with attorney, law professor, and student authors around the United States and managed the timely publication of each quarterly issue of the Review.

I counseled and represented clients in immigration matters, often preparing and filing applications with United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. Additionally, I wrote trial briefs to the Omaha Immigration Court in Omaha, NE, and appellate briefs to the Department of Justice Board of Immigration Appeals.

I conducted legal research regarding various areas of federal law and prepared portions of orders for Chief Judge Laurie Smith Camp and her law clerks. I also had the opportunity to attend closing arguments, sentencing hearings, and Eighth Circuit oral arguments.

I worked with our program director on tasks to create greater social justice and equality for racial and ethnic minorities in Nebraska. These tasks included but were not limited to: assistance with grant writing, maintenance of information for the Nebraska Legal Diversity website, and compilation of juror qualification data using PASW Statistics software.

As a slot editor, I completed the final edit of all stories and headlines and also managed copy editors one night per week. While serving as a copy editor, I completed the initial edits of stories and headlines, looking for grammatical and stylistic errors.
