Working across segments in Human Resources at Mars UK. I am responsible for the coordination of Rewards and Benefits for the 4000+ UK associates of Mars.I am accountable for assisting associates with their pension queries, calculating their pension estimates as well as their final annual earnings figures for members of our final salary pension - dependant on their location this could be in GBP, Euro’s or USD.The benefits part of my role includes the coordination of our Childcare voucher scheme, Cycle scheme and Private health scheme.My role also requires me to adhere to Mars’ policies at all times, therefore I regularly familiarise myself with all processes to make sure they are correct and amended as required. The role has successfully allowed me divulge into the Rewards and Benefits and has improved my communicative skills when with client queries and management I am equally comfortable working independently and using my own initiative to improve our processes and manage my work load.

Whilst working here, I have dealt with a variety of HR related queries ranging from pension administration, family friendly processes and time management systems. I was also responsible for the leaver process for the whole of Mars. This includes initially engaging with associates on notification of resignation, dealing with pay, pension and holiday related enquiries and also actioning their departure from the business.My role also requires me to adhere to Mars’ policies at all times, therefore I familiarised myself with all processes to make sure they are correct and amended as required. The role has successfully allowed me divulge into the HR world and has improved my communicative skills when with client queries. It has developed my confidence when working alongside colleagues and managers, whilst I am equally comfortable working independently and using my own initiative.Undertaking different tasks from pay queries to visa support has enabled me to understand the type of work expected in the HR corporate world.
