I am a Medical Assistant at Boulder Medical Center. We work with Epic Systems. Responsibilities include: taking vitals, vaccinating patients, rooming patients, sending prescriptions, documenting histories, communicating test results & recommendations, managing calls, performing testing (EKG, etc), medical coding, working with electronic medical records, communicating with patients, and setting appointments.

Taught lab section to undergraduates focused on finding genes in T. thermophila involved in the DNA damage repair pathway.

Studied identifying non-silent synonymous mutations in E. Coli. E. Coli with synonymous mutations are compared to the wild type to determine whether they are beneficial, detrimental, or neither. Experiments include: CREATE Cas-9 system, single colony purification, PCR, colony PCR, gel electrophoresis, Gibson assembly, etc. It is a project in cooperation with the University of Colorado Boulder and Inscripta.

• Employment involved tracking athlete study time, management of study rooms, updating occupancy system, and technical support.• Position emphasized privacy relating to athlete injuries in relation to games.

• Finalist in 2018 and Team Captain in 2019• Placed 11th nationally in a cybersecurity competition running Windows. I was part of an all-girls team which was featured on the Today Show. I then managed a team of first year competitors as a former finalist.
