I managed the Jewish Life and Language in Southeast Michigan (JLLSM) collaborative research project. I was responsible for the security and the analysis of all project data, which included audio recordings of sociolinguistic interviews and survey/questionnaire data. I developed an organizational system for our digital and physical data files and created project data security protocols that conformed to IRB standards for human subjects research. I built a template for transcribing the audio recordings using ELAN, a complex linguistic annotation tool, and I designed Excel spreadsheets to analyze our various data (linguistic, demographic, ethnographic, etc.). I wrote procedural guides for all relevant systems and trained our research assistants on them. I directly supervised the research assistants' transcription and data entry work, while also transcribing audio recordings and analyzing data myself.

I coordinated the activities of the Technical Committee for the Endangered Languages Catalogue and the Endangered Languages Project, an NSF grant-funded project. I prioritized and managed the implementation of website bug fixes and improvements, such as the localization of the ELP website into eight languages. I collected and analyzed statistics about website traffic and database entries, I monitored and responded to user suggestions about Catalogue languages, and I moderated user discussions on the ELP site. I prepared and presented technical reports to the international Governance Council, which included representatives from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa, First Peoples Cultural Council, and Google, among others. I also worked with our international partners to fully document the project's history, processes, and workflows to ensure that the post-funding transition went smoothly.

I conducted research for the Endangered Languages Catalogue and the Endangered Languages Project, an NSF grant-funded project. I researched languages in danger of becoming extinct, with a focus on African languages. I reviewed information in the ELCat database for accuracy and updated it as necessary, by discovering and acquiring source documents. I ensured that existing language entries met the criteria for inclusion, and that missing languages were added to the Catalogue. I also added language samples and resources to the ELP user site.
