I was the group lead scientist of multiple ICP-OES instrumentation and personnel. I handled and analyzed irradiated & non-irradiated materials on ICP-OES, ICP-MS and MC-ICP-MS instrumentation that is in containment (gloveboxes). I performed UTEVA separations utilizing a manually designed auto-GPEC and/or prepFAST IC. I was a qualified Fissile Material Handler and researched and developed methods for newly introduced materials to the laboratory.

I was the lead scientist on the Spectro ARCOS ICP-OES and Agilent 7500/7700/8900 ICP-MS & QQQ-ICP-MS instrumentation. I operated and maintained a Teledyne Leeman Prodigy ICP-OES installed in containment for radiological work. I processed samples from dissolution and preparation to analysis, including separations and extractions. Additionally, I processed samples ranging from environmental materials to actinide materials, transcribed and documented standard operating procedures (SOPs) for delinquent and in-process methods, and was responsible for maintaining certification for handling chemical and radiological waste to aid in the disposition of hazardous, non-hazardous and radiological waste materials for multiple chemistry departments, involving coordination with other chemists and the site waste group for the disposition of waste I also researched and developed methods for new materials using ICP instrumentation and microwave digestion techniques.

I was qualified in the methods, sample preparation, operation, calibration and maintenance of an ICP-OES system used for elemental analysis on an assortment of inorganic (i.e., ceramic) and metal alloy samples. I operated and maintained both XRD and SEM instrumentation for a wide array of materials (i.e., ceramic and metallic fixtures) for characterization analysis. I performed wet chemistry testing (i.e., Solvent Residue Testing) and operated an ion-selective electrode for routine NaF¬- and NaI- testing. I was solely responsible for maintaining inventory and ordering of supplies for 4 laboratories onsite, and daily update of the tracking control charts (i.e., I-MR) and trending patterns for multiple methods/processes. I was also responsible for sample prioritization across 3 shifts in the laboratory and designed, developed and validated new methods for ICP-OES which included the transcription of SOPs.
