My primary areas of policy interest are health policy and climate change, particularly the intersection between the two. Within health policy my areas include access to care, the public health impacts of climate change, building local and regional food systems, healthy school food, and state and federal health insurance reform. Within climate policy I have focused primarily on built environment responses to lessening the health impacts of urban heat islands and promoting green infrastructure. I have experience in grassroots organizing, Medicaid and Medicare policy, emergency preparedness, and in working with front-line health outreach workers. I also teach an undergraduate course titled "Women and the Law."
