Create a simpler, quicker and enhanced buying experience in AZ’s buying platform Ariba (Top 5 simplification Project 2015, $3.5m budget). Ariba is AZ’s primary indirect purchasing system operating in 13 markets, with 250k POs, 600k invoices and $8b pa flowing through the system. I was responsible for leading 2 workstreams in the programme: - Reduce low value approvals by introducing a self approval limit change, eliminating 15,000 low value transactions (61%) - Ariba platform User Interface upgrade

A complex, award winning $45m programme simplifying 9 regional Chart of Accounts with a single global chart across AstraZeneca, reducing the number of GL codes by over 90% from 23,000 to 2,000 and cost centres by 75% from 60,000 to around 18,000 to enable quicker and more informed decision-making. As Project & Change Manager acted as the link between the EU marketing companies and project team and delivered a successful programme of change initiatives.

I was responsible for leading URS and design sign off, and aligning business programme plan to ITs system development, test and go-live plans, including delivery of change initiatives.

Standardising and simplifying AZ’s global Delegation of Authority framework from over 120 activity codes to 15 and approval limits applied based on career level rather than manager discretion, enabling greater control, risk management and compliance ($3m budget). I was responsible for EMEA delivery, including solution mapping with countries, managing IT (Infosys) delivery of manual system changes to SAP org hierarchies, business testing (Genpact), cutover, stakeholder engagement with 18 countries and change management.

Pearl was a $64m award winning 3 year programme of 60 initiatives transforming global finance processes to make them “best in class”, reducing working capital, cost to serve, increasing compliance and customer service. I was responsible for driving the following P2P initiatives:- Improving PO Compliance from 70% to +90%- Changing payment terms from Invoice date to Invoice receipt date, delivering $15m working capital benefit.- Developing business case, URS and led RFP for potential solutions for Health Care Professional Payments solutions to ensure compliance with new HCP Transparency Reporting regulations.
