Group Counselor
Current-Services the General Adult Unit, a 33 bed inpatient psychiatric unit primarily servicing chronic adult population, acute adult population, and patients in the State Diversion Program which aims to divert patients from state hospitals or legal punishment when possible-Provides therapeutic groups for other hospital units as needed, servicing the following populations: adult substance abuse/detox, adolescent, and geriatric-Provides a minimum of 4 daily therapeutic groups and activities, including coping skills, stress management, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), goal setting, creative expressions, and recreational activities to meet the unique needs of the current inpatient population-Assesses patients within 48 hours of admission to evaluate patient symptoms, stressors, strengths, challenges, and goals to assist with stabilization process-Documents patient ongoing progress within group therapy setting utilizing the application EPIC-Develops a plan of care for the patient that reflects the assessed needs, strengths, preferences and goals,and stages in the recovery process-Participates in an interdisciplinary treatment team to convey a patient's participation and progressthroughout treatment
