Responsible for implementing a significant change management/cultural shift programme which will enable the joint service to deliver modern, relevant, and consistently high quality services for the residents of Hampshire. The joint service has an annual budget in excess of £11m and generates income in the order of £4.5m per annum. At a time when local government is faced with challenging efficiency targets my role is to lead a highly skilled team of professional colleagues to deliver savings whilst not compromising on the quality of customer facing services. A new strategy for the Library service has provided the catalyst for change and a unique opportunity for diversification and innovation.

My role has been to implement a strong business model in a largely traditional service which delivers statutory services (birth, death and marriage) alongside a range of non statutory functions. Over a period of 9 years I have:- implemented a new model of service delivery which required fundamental changes to staff T&C of service- demonstrated year on year achievement of stretch targets and a sustained increase in income generating activity- negotiated successful partnership arrangements with surrounding local authorities- build a strong and effective team which collectively prides itself on the delivery of excellence (high quality and low cost)- supported the development of specialist skills by working with colleagues nationally to develop a nationally recognised qualification
