I am currently leading regional workforce development initiatives for marginalized young people in Portland. I believe in celebrating each other's differences, talents, and contributions. At New Avenues for Youth, I manage a portfolio of businesses with aggressive revenue and growth targets to provide skill-building environments for the homeless (aged 16 to 25). I create operational procedures and tools for each business to streamline costs and reduce waste. I write grants, direct funds, and work closely with foundations to implement assistance programs. Every day, I balance many priorities for tangible results. Before this, I was a business owner, urban farmer, and food justice advocate. I led landscaping and urban agriculture projects, helping the local community meet financial, social, and environmental goals.
