As part of Vanguard-Infosys partnership to transfer management of Institutional accounts to Infosys, continued to lead global team of developers to support Vanguard Enterprise Advice platform.Drive team development work, delivery of Java solutions, analysis of existing software and proposed new REST services, code reviews, developer support, training, technical consultant to other teams. Support for applications in production. Enabling cloud-based applications and acting as Security Champion for application development.

Within the Institutional Division, providing retirement plan data to the Vanguard Advice platform: Drive technical development on team of 8 software developers, doing analysis of existing software and designing new services, perform code reviews and provide support to other developers. Coding new Java REST services and supporting existing ones. Enabling transformation to AWS cloud data based services from mainframe. Collaborating with consumers on API requirements, coordinating with Architecture on technology initiatives and keeping security standards on all products.

Within the Institutional Division supporting the participant UI experience on the retirement plan participant web site: Creation of new Java REST services and support of existing services using Spring framework. Responsible for code and all testing including mutation and performance testing, requirement gathering with business partners, monitoring application performance in test and production regions. Created a modular testing framework for security testing that was incorporated throughout the division.

Lead Product Engineer - Passenger Oxygen Masks, Drop-Out Boxes.Lead design engineer and liaison with customer for new product development and production support for full product line. Responsible for product conformance issues, product improvement initiatives, manufacturing design issues, new product designs for Sales, design and supervision of product testing, review of product maintenance manuals, resolution of Quality issues.Sample accomplishments:Successfully managed the obsolescence of older passenger oxygen mask, resulting in hard monetary savings for the company as well as soft savings from reduced quality and sales issues. Fully managed project myself, including the design of fittings and interfaces to insure safe and simple transition to more modern product, and communication with customers around globe to resolve all new product issues. Avoided recall of product by performing research and testing on product non-conformance and determining that it did not create safety concern. Received a waiver on this issue from the FAA for my efforts. Educated manufacturing liaisons so that non-conformance would not recur.Created a departmental database to track all Engineering Change Requests and made it available to entire plant.

Engineering design for home lighting products, executed the CAD drawings and wrote bills of material for products. Worked with vendors, stylists and manufacturing floor.

Executed a variety of Continuous Improvement projects to reduce cost or increase productivity for automotive turbocharger manufacturer, as a contract engineer reporting directly to Operations Manager.Sample accomplishments:Redesigned the layout of the manufacturing floor to maximize efficiency between stations.Reduced by 75% the amount of warehouse space required .Reduced the time spent on physical inventory by 80%, by writing a database to easily capture information and structuring a more efficient process.Acted as general contractor for building of training room inside plant.
